Jaelin's 25th Birthday Dance

Jae and I are complementary like salt and pepper. She's the dancer who needed someone to record her, and I'm the shy yet incredibly handsome videographer who needed something to video. We've done a few dance videos so far but this most recent one was for her 25th birthday. She choreographed a dance to Justin Park's Dates in LA and we decided to film it around the Aloha Tower area. We had a lot of interesting conversations with strangers (with an ex-pro wrestler, a college VP) but we eventually got all of our takes in. Happy Birthday, Jae you work so hard on expanding your dance rolodex by going to classes and trying new choreographing styles, I'm so proud of you!

Willamette University's Hawaii Club's 31st Lūʻau

I've helped plan and launch Willamette's Lu'au for all five years that I was in school. The first three years were unforgettable but nothing compared to the devastation that I and the other students and loyal attendees felt when COVID-19 prevented us from having an event in 2020. With more time to think and plan, for our 2021 Lu'au, the logistic coordinators were determined to pivot and adapt. We changed our titles from logistic coordinators to writers, producers, filmers, editors and worked hard for over four months to make this video possible. Lu'au to a lot of people has been about sharing culture with the Willamette community. For me, I always love the people who are involved and put everything they have into making the event possible. I've met my best friends through this event and got the opportunity to collaborate with some of the hardest working people I've ever come across. I learned how to be a better leader, teammate, and friend through this event and THAT is why this was my favorite thing to do in the past five years that I was at Willamette.

    My Decade 201x

10 years gave me unforgettable family memories, like our trip to the Oregon Coast in 2014 and Tokyo in 2018. I also love the little things that our family does that bring us closer like our family dinners and game nights. I met a lot of great people and one person in particular through college. I’m glad that I bought a camera and continue to use it at every opportunity that I get. With all the memories that I’ve captured last year, I hope this year/decade is full of adventure and new experiences.

    Love Me Back

This project was the first time that I attempted to tell a story with video and music. â€‹I learned that this type of video requires a lot of planning, and though I didn't do enough for this project, I am so happy that I gave this my best shot.

This video is about a relationship that was once beautiful and fun turned into quiet and mundane. It took some time apart and some recalling of memories for them to realize that the spark needed to be reignited.
